Weekend Vibes

January 29, 2023

On Saturday, I ran a 5K in San Juan Bautista, California. It started off as a 10 mile race, but now the Mission 10 Race includes a 1-mile run for fun for kids, a 5K, 10 mile and half marathon race. I left feeling accomplished and motivated to train for a bigger race next time.

Running in 40 degree weather was a challenge, but I kept repeating little mantras to myself to push through it. We have to trick our own brains into believing so that our body can do the work. One foot in front of the other, just like in life.

We are also getting ready to go on a snow trip with family. I'm thinking of the peaceful landscapes we will encounter on our drive.

We spent most of Sunday watching championship play-off games. Sad to see the 49ers lose under those circumstances. Better luck next time. Losing, is just as important as winning. I think we learn more that way.

I hope you had a lovely weekend. Be well.

Weekend Vibes

On Friday, I organized a sound bath healing meditation session for a group of local moms. For many of us, it was the first time attending a sound bath. We were treated to various instruments, a gong, a didgeridoo, and many bowls, bells and chimes. The session was about 45 minutes long, and we did some light stretching. This session was facilitated by a friend, Monica, from Asuria Holistics. To learn more about the benefits of a sound bath click here.

A day later the sickness I was avoiding caught up to me. My son got a fever and my husband also got sick. Not fun. I made a lot of chamomile and lemon teas. I made a fresh lemon, ginger and honey brew as well.

I tried to relax, and cozy up next to my toddler. As he watched toons, I enjoyed a book on my kindle. Currently, I'm reading, "Lessons in Chemistry" by Bonnie Garmus. Highly recommend it.

I hope you had a lovely weekend.
